Tim Conboy has over 40 years of experience which began on the first day he was sworn in as an attorney. On that day, as an Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney, Tim tried a jury trial. Says Tim of his trial-by-fire initiation, “From that day, I knew I wanted to be a trial lawyer. I found that trying a case is the closest thing you can do to playing sports in a suit.”


He served three years as an Allegheny County ADA before joining Caroselli, Beachler, McTiernan and Conboy representing personal injury and workers’ compensation clients for 30 years. In 2015, Tim left his prior firm to join his brother, Mark, and they established Conboy Law.


He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College 1979 and a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1982. He has been selected as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in Pennsylvania by the American Trial Lawyers Association every year since 2009. Attorney Conboy has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America every year since 1999. He has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year this honor has been bestowed. He was also named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Top 50 in Pittsburgh three times. He was named the Pittsburgh Area 2020 Lawyer of the Year in Workers’ Compensation-claimants by the Best Lawyers in America publication. He is Martindale Hubbell peer-rated AV Preeminent for very high ethical standards, legal ability and professional excellence. He is rated a perfect 10.0 by the lawyer directory AVVO.


Attorney Conboy is a past President of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice where he previously served as the Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Association (Workers’ Compensation Section Chair 1999-2000), American Bar Association, Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.


For several years he served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh teaching “Advanced Trial Evidence” to law students. 


Attorney Conboy’s areas of practice include Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury. He has handled cases across the state of Pennsylvania involving truck accidents, car accidents, motorcycle accidents and industrial accidents. He has handled a number of injury claims that resulted in wrongful death. He is one of the few attorneys in Pittsburgh who is qualified to handle both third-party lawsuits and workers’ compensation claims.


In 2010, he served as co-counsel in a premises liability case that resulted in a $7.8 million verdict for the plaintiffs. He settled another work-related personal injury claim in excess of $6 million dollars. 


Tim lives in Upper St. Clair with his wife, Beth. They raised three sons: Ryan, a commercial real estate broker; Cole, a dentist; and Sean, an attorney. They have six grandchildren.
